The Arcos de Miragaia space has been kindly lent by Grupo Barca do Lago.
From "settings without text" to "settings with
text". From plastic arts to stage art. From installations to settings. António
Lagarto, one of our most important and international creators of scenic worlds, is someone
who understands the occupation of space as a form of artistic creation. He is now
preparing, at the invitation of PoNTI and in a co-production with Fundação de Serralves,
Situ-acções, an installation conceived for the Arcos de Miragaia, one of the most
beautiful and secret interiors of the riverside district. It is a space for the revisiting
and re-contextualisation of the documents and memory of his activity as a plastic artist
and scenographer.
"He is concerned with the creation of
atmospheres, he is attracted by the unfinished to which he presents infinity as an answer.
Each setting is an invitation for a journey. António Lagarto is always in search of the
vanishing point…"
