Any songs, music-hall songs, simply songs - the actors will
sing, in an apprenticeship for other musical-theatrical adventures. After the tremendous
success, last July, of its premiere in the cycle O Regresso da Concha Acústica (The
Return of the Acoustic Conch), Linha Curva, Linha Turva returns to close PoNTI 99 at the
height of the celebrations.
"For the most attentive and systematic supporters
of TNSJ, this production could be seen as a synthesis of the Teatro Nacional programme,
which is not necessarily an obvious context for the absence of pretension that Linha
Curva, Linha Turva represents. It is still light entertainment despite having been put
together with unusually high musical and scenic quality. It has a clear concept despite
being 'variety'. It has singers (!) being played by actors, it can be performed in any
corner of the planet despite being a National Theatre product."
